How to Crush Cold Weather Workouts

Warm weather is gone and fall is here, people! The cold, pumpkins and all other aspects of autumn have officially arrived. But just because temperatures have dropped does not mean your workout routine can be dropped as well. You are too strong for that. At Relentless Fitness, we don’t let the cold get to us and neither should you. Here are 5 ways to dominate your workouts in the cold from our dedicated squad.

Update Your Wardrobe

The best way to fight the cold is with what you wear. Your clothes will be the only thing between you and those low temps. A proper workout jacket, athletic pants or tights, and an undershirt are excellent choices, especially when you are heading outdoors. Tighter clothes will allow your body to retain heat, which will allow your muscles to stay loose and will prevent cramps or any potential injuries.

Eat foods that will keep you warm

Your diet plays a big part in how your body regulates its temperature. Some foods will leave you feeling cold while others are going to warm you to the bone. We recommend bananas, eggs, red meat, and food containing ginger. They taste great and will flawlessly power your hustle. These are just a few of the many foods you will want to enjoy this season. The weather outside will be harsh but that doesn’t you mean you can’t handle it.

Warm your toes

Your feet are the key to keeping yourself warm. Not only do your feet help regulate and determine your body temperature, but they also are connected to your immune system. A study concluded that people who have cold feet are more likely to come down with the flu. Be sure to wear warm socks and proper footwear this season so that no workout can slow you down.

Stay active

One of the best ways to keep yourself warm in winter is to stay active. Moving around and doing activities will get your blood flowing, and raise your body temperature. No matter how cold it is, doing physical activity will warm you to your core. In fact, you may find yourself happy that we have cold weather since it will help you cool down faster.

Get in your workout early

When it comes to getting the most out of your workout, you need to get going early, no matter how bad it hurts. Your mind may fight you all the way to the front door, however, you need to consider how great it will feel after you obliterated your workout. Layer up, stretch out and get moving if you are doing a workout outside. By waking up early, you will give your mind less time to second-guess heading out in the cold and you will not have any time to make excuses. Focus your energy and become an unstoppable force no matter what challenge faces you, especially if your opponent is mother nature.

The best way to stay warm is through physical activity, which is why you should join us at Relentless Fitness. Check out our classes today and read our blogs for more fitness tips. There is no end to the list of benefits you will get from exercising, so don’t wait for the cold, get active today.
