YOUR GO-TO HOLIDAY PROTEIN SNACK GUIDE!

YOUR GO-TO HOLIDAY PROTEIN SNACK GUIDE!

This week will be a tough one for most people trying to stick to a lean diet. Thanksgiving is a particularly carb and dairy-heavy holiday, especially for vegetarians who are passing on the turkey. Getting the protein you need this holiday weekend, between traveling or playing host, might have been difficult in the past, but it shouldn’t be this year. We compiled a few recipes for you to try, and left out the smoothies, pancakes, and protein balls that you’ve already seen a thousand times.

Try any or all of the protein-packed snacks on our list without any guilt!

  • Protein-Packed Coffee

  • Blend a scoop of a protein powder of your choice, 1 cup of coffee, and 1/4 cup of milk or creamer. Add coconut oil for an extra boost!

  • Oatmeal:

  • Oats, milk of your choice, and any flavored protein powder. Top it with–nuts, seeds, fruit, cacao nibs, anything you’d like!

  • Parfait:

  • Add a scoop of protein powder to yogurt with diced fruits and berries.

  • Guilt-Free Fudge Pops:

  • Two scoops of sweetened protein powder and one jar of organic full-fat coconut milk blended and poured into popsicle molds and frozen.

  • Thai-Inspired Mushroom Soup:

  • One scoop unflavored protein powder mixed with 14 oz broth of your choice, 1 container of pan-fried mushrooms, 1/4 cup of diced green onions, 1/2 cup coconut milk and a combination of light soy sauce and paprika to taste. Top with any oil of your choice, coconut oil works great!

  • Banana Fudge Pops:

  • Cut bananas in half and stick a popsicle stick into each piece, chill them on parchment overnight, then dip each in a mixture of melted coconut oil and chocolate protein powder. Freeze again until they’re firm enough to eat!

  • Protein-Packed Bloody Mary:

  • We recommend you go virgin on this one to eliminate unnecessary carbs, but it’s so delicious that you might not care! Combine 2 cups organic V8 juice, 1/2 cup water, 1 scoop unflavored protein powder, and 4 tbsp. lime or lemon juice. 1-3 tbsp. Flavor with hot sauce, soy sauce/liquid aminos, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper to your liking!

Of course, getting to the gym for a quick workout is always a great idea to ditch the impending holiday slump! Check out what we have in store for you!
